Climate: World Leaders Summit 2021

Climate: World Leaders Summit 2021

The ruling President of the United States of America (USA) has invited world leaders of forty countries to participate in an International conference on Climate. The summit will be virtual, will be live streamed for public viewing.
It is published by The White House, (https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2021/03/26/president-biden-invites-40-world-leaders-to-leaders-summit-on-climate/).
It is further reported that major economies will be further stimulate to grab climate challenges. However, it is surprising for us that Pakistan is not included in the invitation list, in spite of our great efforts towards one billion tree project, planted by the PTI Govt in KP. The present Govt of IK (PTI) in the Federal with allies intend to plant billions of trees in its five years term. Certainly, the plantation in the coming years will boost the green recovery, will contribute towards climate ambition. Our neighbours Bangladesh and India are invited to the Summit.
It is evident from the published invited list of leaders of countries like Bhutan, Kenya, Nigeria, and Vietnam are included. Question arises here that, if these are vulnerable countries; exposed to climate change then Pakistan should also be invited to the summit. Pakistan also stand in the top ten countries, confronted with climate crises.
One of the biggest challenge facing by the world community in the shape of Carbon Emission, mostly producing by Industrial/developed nations. Overly populated states of the world must be urged to reduce emissions in line with Paris Agreement, limit global warming to well below 2, preferably to 1.5 degrees celsius compared to pre-industrial levels. The framework designed for Climate SOPs must be implemented in the true spirit and desires.

Urbanization and Population

As per the data mentioned by Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination, Pakistan has the fifth largest population in the world, approximately 221 million people in the country, fourth largest in Asia and Second largest in the Muslim countries. This is really alarming for a developing country like Pakistan which lacks resources, strategic planning and a broad vision. Exponentially , our population is multiplying every year. Despite with meager resources ; it looks that we are heading towards more dependency on other nations, their financial institutions for more debts, interests and so on. Our agriculture sector is not equipped with to meet up with the nation's needs. Our farmers are less aware of the modern techniques of farming. They are not familiarized with the use of modern technologies. Thats why, we still import wheat, refined petroleum, Petroleum gas, Palm Oil, Raw Cotton, Oil seeds, fruits etc. In fact, our soil is rich in natural resources like, gas...

Go for Green Energy

Green Energy option has to be taken in serious consideration, if the world communities pledge to safeguard the green environment. Green energy is produced from various natural sources, like water, wind and solar. The positive impact of this type of energy is that, it does not harm environment. Green energy is produced from renewable energy technologies, like solar energy through solar panels, wind energy through turbines and water or hydropower through water flow .   BRUSSELS (AP ) — The European Union on Wednesday is unveiling sweeping new legislation to help meet its pledge to cut emissions of the gases that cause global warming by 55% over this decade, including a controversial plan to tax foreign companies for the pollution they cause.
